Having been an internet marketer for a space of time and tried out multiple systems and always looking out for the new breakthrough systems, I have noticed reasons why many beginner internet marketers are not able to ht the tipping point of profiting from their internet marketing venture…

And internet marketing is hard, no matter what the gurus say… there is no magic bullet of churning cash without some sort of investment, be it money or time and resources…

Anyway here are my main reasons why your success could be delayed in internet marketing…

1. Not finishing off what you’ve started… This is a biggie, as in IM, most systems will work and produce profit…. in TIME that is…. You can not make any money unless the whole system is completed and optimized, and replicated after that…. And when someone does not finish what they started, the money will not roll in unfortunately..

And this is true no matter how much theoretical knowledge that you have in your head, as its not manifested in the real world..

So what I suggest is drawing up a plan of action and make sure that its sound and workable, has potential to make you profits. Next just work the heck out of it. Get results, celebrate then rinse and repeat the same formula over and over till you’re very efficient…

2.Lack of discipline. Not able to commit a pocket of time doing the same things daily, not setting habits and rituals esp for mundane tasks such as link building and distribution etc…. Either outsource it or commit to a plan and sticking to it everyday…

3. Thinking that learning is actually being productive.. You know the pattern, WSO after WSO, product after product, webinar after webinar, idea after idea  but no concrete actions… This will actually set you back tremendously… So stop your subscription to newsletters that will distract you, keep you eyes off bright shiny objects and start working on your site, your marketing and your link building and project management…. there’s much more value in that…

I think there’s so much more barriers to IM that bears mentioning but if these 3 are being handled now, it will save you a bulk of time, and resources and you will be able to generate profits quickly and to reinvest it into the business for bigger and better sites/operations and staffing…

Even if you have a stream of steady traffic to your website, your copy has to convert.

These are some of my chosen tips to get your copy to convert and make you some cash….

1. Format your copy so that it’s scannable and enticing to read. Basic really. But key… many readers are put off by unscannable copy so make this a must.

2. HEADLINE: Absolute key.. It’s like going to a bookstore and scanning for the right books to pick up and buy, the only thing that determines your choice in picking up the book is its headline… so ditto to your copy, especially in the mass of articles and among the sea of search engine results, you NEED to stand out!

3. Talk about BENEFITS for the them: How is it relevant to them? How can it change their life right after using the product? What’s in it for them? Make sure that the benefit totally outweighs the cost that they are paying for..

4. PAIN: A big One. Why? Because Pain is an even stronger motivator than pleasure… People will go through great lengths to avoid pain.Make the pain real to the reader, so much so that they are ready to BUY upon your call to action.

Case in point: If you are selling a product that helps your customer generate income, if you used “You will never have to be worried about money ever again or being made redundant or taking in your bosses frustration” and add on “imagine waking up to the sea breeze, and not having to work while enjoying a holiday” , you are on to a winner…

5. Make your story dramatic, engaging , yet still believable…it’s about fine balance..

6. Don’t oversell…make sure that your sincerity comes through… I believe in selling from your conscience..So promote products that really did work for you, and people will see your intentions shine through and they will start to believe in what you say…

7. OVERDELIVER, Big Time… If there is something that you can take away from this is to provide so much value to your reader/customer that they literally have NO choice but to buy the product you are recommending because it provides SO much Value! Quantify how much monetary /time they will save to give it an even better boost…

So in summary, its not that hard to create a copy that sells. Just follow these guidelines and you will be on your way…

Please leave a comment below if you agree/disagree or even would like to add your opinions to it… Always welcome a good comment..

It is not enough to get people to visit your website. The most important things are to make them stay and visit again the next time they log on to the internet, and to inform other people of the existence of your website.

Here are some helpful tips you should consider when designing your website in order to make visitors come back for more:

1.  Your home or opening page should contain a clear explanation of what your site is all about. No one wants to waste time clicking on links and going through pages of text just to discover what your intentions are.

2.  Your site must be easy to navigate. A site menu at the top, bottom, or side of each page is very helpful especially for a first time visitor, especially if your site has lots of pages.

3.  Your site’s content is its heart, so make sure that it has substance. The content is you talking to the visitor, so you should be concerned about making a good impression. Make sure that content is relevant, helpful, valuable and that it stands out from what’s out there.

4.  Your links should be clearly labeled. If a link leads to a guestbook, a eGuestbook name for such link is direct and straight to the point.

5.  Dark text on light background is best for reading. Black text on white background is the most readable. Light on dark can work too, but it tends to be glaring for some people.

6.  Your color scheme must fit the mood of the content of your site and suit your target audience. Whatever colors you use, make sure that they all go with each other. Clashing colors can be a major eyesore.

7.  For uniformity purposes, the pages layout must be the same with one another unless it is completely necessary to break the pattern.

8.  Make sure that your layout that is viewable for all screen resolutions. Avoid too-long and too-wide pages so that people with bigger screen resolutions would not have to scroll up-down and side-to-side.

9.  A page with graphics, animation, Flash movies, and music takes more time to load than one without. If you bombard your site with these accessories, many visitors will not hang around and wait for the pages to load especially if they are using dial-up connection. Besides, too much of a good thing is tacky. Use these add-ons sparingly and try to keep it simple.

10.  Follow all HTML standards so your website will be compatible with commonly used browsers, namely Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla. If you can make your site viewable for most browsers, so much the better.

11.  Some browsers are set not to accept plug-ins. Some are set to text-only.  Whatever browser settings the visitor has, you should have made sure that the site is still aesthetically appealing in all possible circumstances.

12.  If you are going to use graphics, make sure that they are of high resolution. This is especially important if you are selling products and using photos to showcase your goods.

13.  Before publishing your website, road-test it first by browsing through it as if you are a first time visitor. This is the best way to sort out any kinks that would have been otherwise overlooked.

14.  If you have no web design and html knowledge, hire a web designer to build your site.  If you have no web design knowledge but have little html knowledge, you may buy pre-made web templates, here is a collection of professional web templates that you can use:
http://www.marktse.com/template/

15. Create a memorable and relevant name for your website, make sure that it’s sticky and not to be confused with another site in the similar niche.

In the end, freshness is the most essential feature your site should have. The internet is highly dynamic so do not let your site get stuck in a rut.

Always keep your site updated in terms of content. Enhance the aesthetics of the site every now and then. If you think your sites look is on its way to being outdated, do not be afraid of giving it a major overhaul.

Internet Marketing is a great business to be in. Is it easy? Some think so, but they overlook the actual time and resources that have been put on the table by their successful role models. Here are some of the common misconceptions of internet marketing. Have a good read before diving into the business…

1. You will get rich quick. Marketing on the internet takes a lot of work. This is not a get rich quick scheme. It takes much time learning and failing before you will succeed. Your success is entirely up to you. You will reap what you sow.

2. You won’t make any money. Again you will reap what you sow. your key to success is through consistency and persistence. If you are willing to learn and accept failures from time to time, learn from your mistakes and apply that knowledge – the money will come. Don’t give up. There are lots of people who truly do make money this way.

3. Anyone can do this. If you tell your self there is nothing to this, you will set yourself up for guaranteed failure. A profession such as this takes a lot of discipline and most of all the willingness to learn. It takes a lot of hard work and an open mind. You have to be willing to embrace new ideas as they come and take this seriously.

4. Not everyone can do this. This is also not true. As long as you free your mind to scepticism such as these, you have taken your first step. While this profession takes time to figure out, it is not hard to figure out. Remember the only person stopping you is you!

5. It is too hard. Look within your self. There is an online business in you. What do you know? What do you like? What do you need that has not been created yet? Answers to these questions and questions like them are the beginnings of you having the ability to set yourself apart from the crowd.

6. It will be easy. It will get easier, but you will have to do loads of studying. Spend many hours brainstorming. You will spend many hours reading, writing, and learning what works and what doesn’t. It will get tedious and hard to stick to. Persevere, your reward is coming.

7. It will only require 2-3 hours a day. At some point you will be able to automate most of your efforts. In the beginning, long hours are not unheard of. I have spent many 18 hour days in front of my computer.

8. This is not a real job. Yeah right! You will come across many sceptics. Or worse than that, people who do not reveal scepticism but merely look at you funny. Believe me this is a real job. You will be just as exhausted from working and researching all day as you would sling 50 pound sacks of flour all day. When you are mentally exhausted you will be physically exhausted. You work hard; don’t allow the people who minimize your efforts get to you.

9. The only good reason to do this is for the money. That could not be further from the truth. There is a lot to gain; the money is a plus of course. Learning will always make you a better person. If you are happy with your self, everyone else will be to. You can’t beat the hours.

10. It takes years to learn online business. Not true. The best suggestion is to study hard. Read your newsletters and the articles in them. Listen to those who are already successful. They are already telling you what to do and how to do it. Now you just need to listen and learn.

Ministry Of Sound - Laser Light Show with DJs ...

As an affiliate marketer, you may have all the special qualities needed for success in this business. You may have the necessary drive, diligence and perseverance to be able to make the whole system work.

You may have all the tools, and all the bells and whistles necessary to maintain the business, including a unique and interesting website, a follow up system in place, the best products anyone has ever seen, and enough original content to make both the New York Times and CNN turn  red with envy.

Unfortunately, all these will prove completely useless, if you don’t know how to drive traffic to your own website.

Without traffic, your business will sink into oblivion, together with any sales, fortune and dreams that you might have realized if you’d only known how to perform this key, essential task successfully.

Getting interested prospects to see your website is a difficult undertaking, particularly when you consider the fact that there are rivals everywhere waiting to derail your best efforts.

The immensity of the internet in general, as well as of the affiliate marketing world in particular, has given birth to fierce competition among affiliate marketers, each of whom has their own great product to offer.

With millions and millions of websites piling up on top of each other, how will yours ever get noticed?

The 7 best ways to drive laser-targeted traffic to your website, which we’ll cover in detail below, can help those who are determined to stick it out in this business come out on top, while shaking off the apparent obstacles in their path.

STEP ONE: USE SEARCH ENGINES

The first step in driving traffic to one’s website is to rely on search engines. Because they are popular for driving free targeted traffic, they should never be ignored by any means.

Having top search engine rankings is vital in building popularity links, and the use of the appropriate keywords is important in attaining this goal. Once a website is on top of the list, a feat accomplished by the most clever marketers, it’s easily accessible to the entire world without any out of pocket expense from the affiliate.

STEP 2: LINK EXCHANGES

The second way to drive traffic to your website involves contacting other webmasters for possible link exchange
partnerships.

Locating websites that are related to one’s own website is the first task. Once you have found a potential link partner, send the webmaster a personalized email asking to establish a reciprocal link exchange with him/her.

If they’re not familiar with what you propose, an unlikely possibility since this is a hot discussion topic all over the Internet, spell out the mutual advantages of exchanging links to them. Naturally, the best partners for you to find are those webmasters who are on the receiving end of lots of traffic.

STEP 3: WRITE ARTICLES

The third method is to write your own articles. This is an effective way of promoting a website because good content, that is appreciated by readers, can lead them to visit your website out of the interest you arouse in them through your words.

There’s also the added advantage that your articles, if interesting enough, will be picked up and posted by many webmasters on their websites. There are millions of web site owners hungrily looking for original content to provide for their visitors and customers. Let them choose yours.

Over time, your article and your resource box may appear on thousands of web site all over the Internet. And, your resource box is silently sending visitors to your affiliate site, even while you sleep. Talk about the perfect Silent Partner.

STEP 4: DO JOINT VENTURES

The fourth way is through joint ventures. This is one of the most effective ways of promoting a product or a service.

Establishing partnerships through ad swaps or link exchanges is of tremendous benefit to both parties, as it allows both of them to reach a wider customer base in a shorter amount of time.

As any smart and successful businessperson will tell you, growth in any business is directly proportional to how well you can ethically leverage the resources of other people – to the benefit of both parties. This philosophy is at the heart of any joint venture agreement.

STEP 5: YOUR OWN AFFILIATE PROGRAM

The fifth step is to start your own affiliate program. Having affiliates to do the work means allowing them to bring tons of traffic to a website. A dramatic surge in sales can be realized as a result, and both the affiliate and the website owner will benefit from the partnership.

Of course, running your own affiliate program requires a greater commitment from you in terms of time and effort. You’ll need to be prepared to manage all aspects of this business, from recruiting affiliates, to providing them with top notch sales materials, to tracking sales and returns, all the way to paying out their commissions on time.

STEP 6: BUILD AN OPT-IN LIST

The sixth step is to have a list of opt-in subscribers that can be contacted on a regular basis. This is one of the most, if not the most, valuable assets any marketer possesses.

The use of autoresponders and personalized newsletters is one way of keeping track of them all. You can contact them periodically with new product and service announcements -
potentially leading to more sales and increased profits.

STEP 7: TARGET YOUR MARKET

The seventh step requires that you know your market through and through. It is important to learn how to target only those who might have a special interest in the theme or topic of your website. In this manner, a solid customer base is going to be created.

Once a potential customer shows an interest in your website by paying a visit, you must not waste any time in trying to prove to him/her that their effort is worth it.

Traffic generating strategies are important in trying to make one’s affiliate marketing career move forward. It’s always advisable to plan one’s moves in whatever business one might undertake; this is particularly true in affiliate marketing.

If you know how to get people to see what you have to offer, then your success quotient rises dramatically.

9 Powerful List Building Techniques

The lifeblood of any Internet marketer is their list. If you have an opt in email list that is targeted, with subscribers hungry for your content and recommendations (be it products or services) then you are sitting on piles of cash, if you properly use your list then your earning potential is very high.

As many people ask “How do I build a list?” The following points describes some of the best ways for building your email list:

1) Newsletter / E-zine

We are in the Information Age and so people are desperate for information. Everyone is so busy with their lives they don’t have time to find the information for themselves. Publish a newsletter in your niche that is full of valuable content and you will get people flocking to you to sign up. Better yet, send newsletters regularly, supplying content that is relevant and so valuable your subscribers that they will start purchasing products of your recommendation.

2) E-Courses

People are hungry for information, so a free e-course will persuade people to part with their email address. Create at least a ten part course that is delivered every few days into their inbox. Of course, the e-course also subtly sells your product!

3) Articles

Write articles and distribute them to article directories. Include your newsletter sign up in the resource box and if you have provided good quality content, you will get the visitors who will sign up to learn more. Article directories such as ezine articles and goarticles will be the first on your list of directories..

4) Free Books

A free e-book is an excellent way to build your list. It doesn’t have to be an epic tome, just valuable information that people will exchange their email address for. You can write one yourself or get one ghostwritten for you. Make sure though that it is information that your visitors will want to have, and make sure you have included links to your products and sites in the book. You can also include affiliate links to further maximise your earnings.

5) Free Membership Site

Creating a free membership site is an excellent way to get people’s email addresses. Offer valuable content for free but only to signed up members. You can then upsell them other products or other levels of membership with more products and more resources available to them.

6) Squeeze Page/Sales Page

A squeeze page is a pre-sales letter page where you capture a person’s email address before they move on to view your sales letter. This is reportedly very effective and you can also personalise the sales letter with their name or other details from the squeeze page. This can also be a funnel for income generation as targeted traffic streams through your site, they will be able to click and purchase the products that are relevant and useful to them and you will also be able to earn your affiliate commissions and profits with regularity

7) Signup Bonuses

Offer your visitors a bonus if they sign up for your newsletter, e.g. 120% off ABC for readers or a number of e-books or reports that will be of interest to them. Make sure to put a value on the products as they will generate a perception of high value hence making the exchange of email information more than reasonable.

8 ) Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is where you give away something of value that people want to pass to all their friends. It may be a video, a book, a game or anything similar. However, whatever it is, it has your web address in it so people can come and sign up to your newsletter and get more info.

9) Free Giveaways

A very popular new method of list building are the big Internet giveaways where lots of people submit products that are available for free in exchange for a newsletter sign up. These are excellent ways to rapidly build your list  though be aware that freebie seekers may not make for the most responsive of lists.

Using these 9 simple strategies you can build your list and then leverage their earning power.
